Which cookies Vidori sets, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to turn off the ones you do not want.

Cassette Group Ltd, company number 14147271, operates Vidori. This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies across the Vidori marketing site, the Vidori application at vidori.eazly.io, and guides published on Vidori subdomains.
Our use of cookies can involve processing personal data. For the wider picture, read the Privacy Policy. Your use of the service is governed by the Terms of Service.
02What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. It lets the site recognise your browser, remember your choices, and understand how the site is being used.
We also use technologies that behave like cookies without technically being cookies: local storage and session storage, which hold data in your browser, and pixels or web beacons, small transparent images that record whether a page or email was opened. Where this policy says "cookies", it means all of these.
Cookies are either session cookies, deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which stay for a set period. They are either first-party, set by us, or third-party, set by a service we use.
03The categories we use
Strictly necessary
These make the service work. They authenticate you, keep you signed in, route your requests, protect against cross-site request forgery, and remember your cookie choices. Without them Vidori does not function, so they are always on and do not require your consent.

Functional
These remember your preferences so the application behaves the way you left it: interface language, editor layout, panel states, dismissed onboarding prompts, your last-used project, and your default output format and brand kit. They also hold unsaved editor state so a refresh does not cost you work.

Turn these off and Vidori still works, but it will forget your preferences each time.
Analytics
These tell us how Vidori is used: which pages get visited, which features get opened, which output formats get generated, where people get stuck, and where errors happen. We use it to fix faults and decide what to build. They are set only with your consent.
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited. Google Analytics sets cookies that give your browser a random identifier and record how you move through the site. It does not tell us who you are. Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms, and we have IP anonymisation on, so your full IP address is not stored.

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then deleted. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or you can simply decline analytics cookies here.
Marketing
Vidori runs paid advertising. These cookies measure whether an ad produced a sign-up, and allow Vidori ads to be shown to you on other sites. They are set only with your consent. They are used on the Vidori marketing site and never inside the signed-in application.

You can control how Google personalises the ads you see at adssettings.google.com. Declining marketing cookies here stops us using them, but it does not stop you seeing advertising generally. You will still see ads, they will just be less relevant.
04Cookies on content you publish or distribute
This section matters if you use Vidori to produce content for an audience. What applies depends on how that content reaches them.
Guides hosted on Vidori. Published HTML guides set a small number of first-party cookies to deliver the page and count views. Analytics cookies on published content are governed by the consent given on that page, not by consent given inside the Vidori application.
Exported and self-hosted guides. Once you export a package and put it on your own infrastructure, we set nothing and see nothing. You become responsible for any cookie notice, consent mechanism and privacy notice that page needs. If your guide embeds third-party media or a tracking tag, that is yours to disclose.
Downloaded video and PDF. An MP4 file, a PDF guide or a short-form cut sets no cookies. It is a file. Once you have downloaded it, we have no visibility of where it goes or who watches it. If you upload it to a video platform, a social channel, an intranet or an LMS, that platform's own cookies and tracking apply, not ours, and disclosing them is a matter between you and that platform.
If you publish to viewers in the UK or the EU, you need consent before setting any non-essential cookie on the page, whether you host with us or not. This is your obligation as the publisher.
05Third-party content inside guides
Guides can embed third-party media, including video players, forms and maps. Those embeds may set their own cookies when the content loads. We do not control them and their own privacy policies apply. Where you embed third-party content, disclose it to your viewers.
06Your choices
The consent banner
When you first visit Vidori you are asked which categories you accept. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Functional, analytics and marketing cookies are off until you turn them on. You can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
We ask again at least every 12 months, and whenever we add a cookie that materially changes what we collect.
Your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and to be warned before one is set. Look under settings, privacy, or help. allaboutcookies.org has instructions for each browser. On mobile, cookie and tracking controls sit in your device privacy settings.
Blocking all cookies will break the sign-in flow, so you will not be able to use the Vidori application.
Do Not Track
There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to Do Not Track signals, so Vidori does not respond to them. Use the consent banner instead. It works.
07Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when we add or remove cookies, or when the law changes. Material changes will be flagged through the consent banner, which will ask for your choices again. Every version carries an effective date.
